Looking to buy or sell 26.5R25 tyres?

26.5R25 is the most common L-3, L-4, and L-5 loader tyre in Australian mining and civil construction. We trade it every day, across every credible brand.

Jewell Tyres has been trading 26.5R25 since the size became standard on the CAT 980 in the 1980s. It's now the default loader tyre for the entire CAT 980-988 series, the Komatsu WA470-WA500 series, the Volvo L220-L260, and the Liebherr L 580. If you've got that class of machine on your fleet, you've got 26.5R25 in your tyre programme.

We're independent. That means we don't push one brand. The right 26.5R25 for your application depends on the duty: tier-one (Bridgestone VLT, Michelin XLD D2, Goodyear RL-5K, Yokohama RL-5) for primary production, mid-tier (BKT Earthmax SR468, Aeolus AL57, Techking ETOT-L5, Triangle TB598S+) for secondary fleet, civil and quarry.

Whether you need them, have surplus stock to move, or want to know what's actually a fair price delivered, we've done this for fifty years and we'll give you a straight answer.

What buyers ask about 26.5R25

What machines run 26.5R25 tyres?

26.5R25 is the default large wheel loader fitment in Australia. It runs on the Caterpillar 980, 982, 986 and 988 series, Komatsu WA470, WA475, WA480 and WA500, Volvo L220, L250 and L260, Liebherr L 580 and L 586, Doosan DL550, Hitachi ZW310 and ZW330, and Hyundai HL955 and HL960. Fitment varies by machine generation and configuration, so confirm the size on the machine or against current OEM data before ordering.

What does a 26.5R25 cost in Australia?

There is no single price. A tier-one 26.5R25 L-5 sits well above a mid-tier L-3, and the gap between them is wider than most buyers expect. Price moves with brand tier, TRA service code, compound, new or used condition, order volume, current allocation and where the tyres have to land. We price Ex Works unless a quote states delivered, so freight runs to the buyer's account under our Standard Terms. We don't publish a price list. Ask us and we'll give you a current indication in AUD for the volume you need.

What is the difference between L-3, L-4 and L-5 in 26.5R25?

They are TRA service codes describing tread depth and intended duty, not a ranking of brand quality. L-3 is general-purpose traction depth, L-4 is deeper for more cut resistance and longer life, L-5 is extra deep for severe rock, and L-5S is the smooth extra-deep pattern used underground. 26.5R25 is offered in all four. In our view most civil and quarry duty sits on L-3 or L-4, with L-5 kept for primary production loaders in hard rock. TRA codes are reference that may be superseded, so confirm against the manufacturer's current databook.

Which 26.5R25 brands does Jewell Tyres trade?

Every credible brand, because we're independent and not aligned to a manufacturer. On the tier-one side that means Bridgestone VLT, Michelin XLD D2, Michelin XHA2 and XDR3, Goodyear RL-5K and Yokohama RL-5. On the mid-tier side it means BKT Earthmax SR468, Aeolus AL57, Techking ETOT-L5 and Triangle TB598S+. Which one suits a given machine is our opinion as a trader, not engineering advice, and is worth confirming against the manufacturer's application data. The full list is on our brands page.

How quickly can you supply 26.5R25 in Australia?

It depends on the brand, the pattern, the quantity and where the tyres have to land. We source 26.5R25 across the OEM channel and the trader market, which is often faster than OEM-direct, and we'll tell you straight when we can't move quickly. We don't commit to a date until the stock is confirmed. Freight is organised Australia-wide and the cost runs to the buyer's account under our Standard Terms.
