/ About Jewell Tyres

Built over 50 years. Run by people who know tyres.

Jewell Tyres has been trading off-the-road tyres into Australian mining, earthmoving and civil construction sites since 1974. Not a startup story. We're who the trade has been ringing for fifty years.

Founder David Jewell started in tyres in 1974. Probably still a farmer at heart, he built the business on what mattered most then and still matters now - knowing the gear, knowing the people, and being easy to deal with.

/ What we've traded through

Five decades of business. The boom-and-bust cycles in mining, the consolidation of OEM tyre supply, the rise of Asian manufacturing, the shift from bias to radial, the move to giant 63" haul-truck tyres. We've traded through all of it.

/ What hasn't changed

We know the sizes, the patterns, the compounds, the manufacturers. We have a view on which tyres run well on which machines, in which conditions, and which don't. That view is the opinion of an independent trader, not an engineering assessment, and it's worth confirming against current manufacturer data before you commit. It is also what gets us called when a buyer needs a tyre that doesn't appear to exist anywhere, or when a seller has stock that doesn't fit anyone's standard catalogue.

From articulated dump trucks in iron ore, to underground loaders, to graders on a civil job, to ag and forestry. Real machines, real conditions, real outcomes.
/ Since 1974

Fifty years in one trade, and the man who started it still takes the calls.

Jewell

Probably still a farmer at heart, David Jewell started the business in 1974 with the conviction that being practical, fast, and easy to deal with was a winning formula in OTR tyre trading.

He was right. Five decades on, that's still the formula. David remains hands-on with the business: buyers and sellers deal with him directly, not through layers of account management.

"Our tyres are used in the most extreme conditions on earth, for some of the world's largest mining companies. The job is to get the right rubber on the right machine, fast, at a fair price. That's what we do."

Questions about the business

How long has Jewell Tyres been trading?

Founder David Jewell started in tyres in 1974, which makes it five decades of continuous trading in off-the-road tyres for Australian mining, earthmoving and civil construction. David is still hands-on, and buyers and sellers deal with him directly.

Is Jewell Tyres tied to a tyre manufacturer?

No. Jewell Tyres is an independent trader. It doesn't own a tyre brand and isn't aligned to any manufacturer or OEM supply channel, and it trades every major OTR brand alongside credible mid-tier and emerging brands.

What does Jewell Tyres actually do?

Two sides of the same trade. We source and supply new and used OTR tyres for mines, civil contractors and dealers, and we buy or disperse surplus, end-of-mine and off-allocation stock, by outright purchase, consignment, or a confidential sole-seller arrangement. Sizes run from 24 inch rim loader and grader tyres up to giant 63 inch haul truck tyres, bias and radial.

Does Jewell Tyres give technical or engineering advice?

No. We're traders, not tyre engineers. What we offer on fitment, application or price is our good faith opinion as an independent trader, given as general reference and not as professional, procurement or engineering advice. Specifications are worth confirming against current manufacturer data before you act on them, and the terms that apply to a deal are on the legal page.

What is the legal entity behind Jewell Tyres?

Jewell Tyres is the trading name of Keelangie Nominees Pty Ltd ACN 005 226 497 as trustee for the DG & CV Jewell Family Trust, ABN 65 623 463 511, trading from 10 Beard Crescent, Wodonga VIC 3690. Contracts are governed by the law of Victoria.

The job is to get the right rubber on the right machine, fast, at a fair price.
